Denver, CO – June 18, 2025 — As summer events return in full swing across the Mile-High City, Denver officials are grappling with a new challenge — ensuring public safety amid growing crowds. From open-air concerts in Civic Center Park to food festivals near the RiNo Art District, managing crowds has become a top priority. And surprisingly, temporary fence rentals have emerged as a silent hero in this scenario.
Over the past two months, Denver has hosted more than 25 public events drawing crowds exceeding 10,000 attendees each. City officials, in collaboration with private organizers, are now investing heavily in crowd control infrastructure, with temporary fencing being a key component.
“Our events are growing in size and complexity,” said Marissa Gleeson, Deputy Director of City Events. “Temporary fencing helps us define event zones, restrict unauthorized entry, and ensure public safety without making attendees feel confined.”
Local fence rental companies have reported a significant increase in bookings this summer. According to Denver-based event logistics coordinator Ben Harris, rental inquiries for temporary barriers have more than doubled compared to last year.
“People think fencing is just for construction sites, but these rentals are essential for modern crowd management,” Harris said. “From securing concert perimeters to guiding foot traffic, fence rental is now part of every planner’s toolkit.”
A similar trend is unfolding in nearby cities like Boulder and Aurora, with organizers seeking fence rental services for community fairs, marathons, and even farmer’s markets. Security experts say these fences not only aid in crowd control but also deter theft and vandalism.
“There’s also the psychological factor — people naturally obey physical boundaries,” said David Lowry, a private security consultant. “When they see temporary fencing, they understand the limits without needing constant supervision.”
Interestingly, the rise in demand isn’t limited to public gatherings. Local businesses are also renting fences to protect properties during overnight renovations or while transitioning to new premises. With more urban development projects underway in Denver’s downtown area, temporary fencing is becoming a common sight.
As Denver prepares for its annual Independence Day celebrations — including the massive fireworks show at Elitch Gardens — city officials confirmed that over 4,000 feet of fencing will be deployed across multiple viewing zones. The goal: safety, accessibility, and seamless flow.
Whether for safety, privacy, or peace of mind, fence rentals are now woven into the fabric of city life in Denver — one panel at a time.
